Rudi Milat
Born in Split in 1960. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1983, in the class of Prof. Petar Jakelić. He works as an art teacher. In his painting he works in combined techniques, recomposing female figures with motifs of ships and the sea.
Painting
In his painting and printmaking Rudi Milat works with combined techniques, creating recomposed images of female figures alongside ships and the sea. His work brings together the visual stories of life with the poetry of living in this region.
Training
He was born in Split in 1960, where he also completed the secondary school of art. He developed his relationship with art throughout his schooling, and in 1983 graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, in the class of Prof. Petar Jakelić.
He works as an art teacher.
Associations
He has taken part in numerous exhibitions organised by the HDLU since his art-school years. He is a member of and collaborator with the HDLU and the “Emanuel Vidović”, “Vlaho Bukovac” and “ART More” associations.
The ART More art association was founded in Split in 2011, and Rudi Milat was its first president. He brought its members together around the variety of their artistic expression and a shared affinity for the sea — all of them born here, living here, by the sea and for the sea.
